Paul Mahler

Pastor

I know what it is like to be a Christian, but trying to live in the world, and I now know that it does not work. I accepted Jesus as my Personal Lord and Savior at the age of 13; however, I stopped going to church when I was about 21 years old; not returning for about eight years. In Irvington Bible Baptist Church1998, I re-dedicated my life to the service of the Lord, and have been Preaching, and Teaching the Word of God ever since.
I have come to find out that Bible Study is not only beneficial to your growth into a personal relationship with Jesus but is a command found in the Bible.
I am bringing the truth of God’s Word to Central Indiana, as the pastor of an Independent Baptist church located in Indianapolis Indiana.

Minister of Music

I’ll be 59 November 26, 2017.  I got saved by grace through faith in Jesus when I was four at the Patricksburg Assembly of God Church.  My Sunday school teacher, Mrs. Bumgardner, lead me to the Lord.  It was easy to believe that Jesus gave his life for me because I knew I needed a Savior.  I knew I was a sinner.  I stole stuff at the local grocery store, I was mean to my little sisters, and I lied to my mother.  I welcomed God as my father and Jesus as my Savior easily because my dad left and he wasn’t coming back.  Although I don’t remember everything that clearly from when I was four, I have awards indicating that I spent the next four years in every Sunday school service.

I wish I could say that God and the Bible have always been that real to me.  As a young teenager, I yielded to the call of the world when I decided to follow the desires of my heart instead of the desires of the heart of my Savior.  Similarly, as the prodigal son returned to his father, I returned to Jesus.  Finding myself doing things I shouldn’t have been doing in places I shouldn’t have been with people I shouldn’t have been with, left me feeling alone in a room full of people.  Thanks be to God for never leaving me or forsaking me.

After returning to my service for the Lord, He blessed me with more opportunities to serve him than I deserved.  I’ve been back in church for more than 25 years.  In all that time one of the things I tried to convey to other Christians is the importance of perseverance. Never quit. Stay in the fight. If you give God the opportunity, he will take care of you. Now, I often remind people that I have not always been the pillar of the Church you see today.

My hope in the Lord is that anyone who hears me, my music, and sees my life will see Jesus in me.
