On May 14, 1948, 70 years ago today, the Nation-State of Israel was proclaimed by David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish agency.

On that same day, and within only two hours of elapsed time, the President of the United States of America, Harry S Truman recognized the new Nation.

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. - Genesis 12:1-3

The United States was the first government to extend formal diplomatic recognition to the sovereign state of Israel and today, the United States is the first Government to move their embassy to its rightful place.

Today the United States of America, under the direction of President Donald Trump, opens the new U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Israel.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. – Psalms 122:6
