Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Psalm 25:4-5

Have you ever attempted to give someone driving directions?  Especially someone who is “directionally challenged”?  GPS technology has come a long way, but so many people rely completely on these things.

In this podcast we are going to see how to find the right path:

  • We need to get back to the Old Paths                 (Jeremiah 6:16)
    • Inerrancy of the Bible
    • Infinite sufficiency of Christ’s Work
    • Empowerment of the Spirit
    • Importance of the local church

In order to find the good way, we must learn the Lord’s paths and return to them.  What are the old Paths?

  • Inerrancy of the Bible
    • There have never been any proven errors found in the King James Bible since it’s printing in 1611.
    • The statistical probability that the Bible would be able to forecast future events with such accuracy and detail is mathematically improbable.
    • The chance that 48 prophecies of one man being fulfilled (as is the case with the first coming of the Lord Jesus Christ) would be 1 out of 10 with 157 zeros after it.
      • The Bible is Pure
        • Psalm 12:6-7
        • Psalm 119:140
      • The Bible is Profitable
        • 2 Timothy 3:16-17
      • The Bible is Powerful
        • Hebrews 4:12

      • Colossians 1:12-14, 20-22
    • Our sufficiency is of God
      • 2 Corinthians 3:5
        • Not ourselves
          • Philippians 3:3
          • Ephesians 2:8-9

    • The only way to make sense of commands such as, love one another or forgive one another is if there are others to love or forgive.
      • Ephesians 2:19-22
    • The local church is needful for the following things:
      • To get us rooted and grounded in love and the truth

        • 2 Peter 3:18

        • 2 Timothy 4:2
          • We need to be:
            • Reproved: Convinced of our faults
            • Rebuked: Receive correction for those faults
            • Exhorted: Receive encouragement that we can get those faults fixed
            • Learn Doctrine: So that we can know what the truth is
              • 2 Timothy 3:16
